MILESTONES
1985
Herma Corporation Chairman Herminio S. Esguerra started his transport business with a rented barge and a ten-man team.
1995
The company was renamed to Herma Shipping and Transport Corporation, consolidating and establishing professionalized operation efficiency for marine transport.
1998
ISM ISO 9001 Certification received from Lloyds Register.
2008 April
Herma Group launches the first Filipino-made, double-hulled and internationally classed petroleum tanker M/T Matikas.
2009
M/Tkr Masinop launched as the second double-hulled petroleum marine transport wholly designed and built by Filipinos that meet IACS standards, and safety, security and environmental standards.
2012 February
M/Tkr Makisig was successfully retrofitted from a single to a double hull vessel. It is a 34,000 barrel tanker chartered by Chevron Philippines Inc. to serve its hauling requirements for white products along Coastal routes.
2014
On its 29th anniversary, the company presented its newest internationally-classed petroleum tanker M / Tkr Matapat to stakeholders. Former Vice President Binay led government officials, businessmen, members of the diplomatic corps, maritime industry players and foreign guests in gracing the occasion held at the Manila Polo Club.
2015
HSTC is engaged by FPCI for the technical, crew and commercial management of its 5 vessels.
2016 November
For the first time, prior to the actual maiden voyage, clients were invited on board to view the company’s second locally built vessel, the M/Tkr Malingap . The vessel was time chartered to serve requirements for Chevron Philippines.
2017 April
Another testament of Filipino craftmanship, the company welcomed M/Tkr Matipuno to the fleet.
2018 May
M/Tkr Maringal was launched as HSTC’s 6th home-built IACCS accredited vessel.
2019
3 new business units were formed, exclusively dedicated to addressing the needs of the business in the aspects of ship management, crew management and ship owning.
